Sejauh mana komunikasi kita berkesan. Sesuatu yg saya rasa ingin kongsikan bersama.
A snobbish English woman brought her poodle with her when se went to dine in an exotic chinese restaurant in Hong Kong. As she reached the door, she pointed to her dog and used sign language to indicate that her dog should be looked after really well while she dined. She went in and had a sumptuous meal.
When she was done, she asked for her poddle and that was when the fun began. The waite couldn't speak english well and had a really tough time convincing her that they thought she had asked them to cook her poodle really well for dinner when she came in.
That was exactly what they had done as theirs was a restaurant where people brought in food to be cooked! When she got impatient and used sign language to ask for her dog, they ponted back to her stomach and indicated to her that it was inside her. When she caught on to their message, she fainted.....
So much for communicating correctly! It is a problem not exclusive only to Hong Kong either. Effective communication is a real problem in many areas of our lives. How often has a wife read the wrong message from her husband and vice versa? How often are we out of"sync" with the people we work with? How often do we say things too quickly and in language that only we can comprehead and yet expect everyone else to know exactly what we are talking about? Think about it! We could become much more considerate people - with our family, friends, colleagues and customers - if we only "listened" with more than just our ears.
So, communication is important to success and for success....No matter what, who you are..please comminucate. Bye...
